NIMMONS BRIDGE

This historic former wooden trestle railbridge allows you to walk or cycleacross it and then also walk along a path beneath. It offers lovely rural views and Instagram Moments! (Used to be Kodak Moments! LOL)

THE DEVIL'S KITCHEN

Only 30 minutes from Ballarat, you’ll discover Devils Kitchen Geological Reserve. This reserve has spectacular basalt columns, dramatic cliff lines and the resident peregrine falcon may even be sighted.

BALLARAT SKIPTON RAILTRAIL

The Ballarat–Skipton Rail Trail runs 53 kilometres along the old Skipton railway line from western Ballarat, southwest through Haddon, Smythesdale and Pittong to Skipton.

Don't forget to bring your bike!

JUBILEE MINE

The 40-minute Jubilee Walk is self-guided walk that takes you past ruins and remnants of past mining operations, including the one of Victoria’s best preserved example of mining at the Jubilee Company Quartz Gold Mine.

BIRDSONG NURSERY & CAFE

The Birdsong Nursery and Cafe is a boutique nursery in Smythesdale that specialises in Australian Natives. The plants suit Victoria's climate and the owner Ron, can assist you with any questions you have. He has a hysterical personality and a wealth of native plant knowledge.  There are some cute animals including very talkative cocky and gorgeous donkeys.

"The Boss" Karen is an amazing chef. From breakie burgers to lemon meringue pie. The choices are perfect and all freshly made.  Click here to check for opening times

THE SCARSDALE HOTEL

Tucked away in the tiny town of Scarsdale is the Scarsdale Hotel. This establishment offers classic pub fare at reasonable prices. A very country feel with great service and the best beef schnitzel in the area!

RUSTIC EDGE CAFE & TAKEAWAY

Rustic Edge has a variety of delicious take away food options. If you feel like a burger, fish n chips or a pizza, they will be sure to have something to suit your craving. My favourite is scallops, pumkin cakes and butterfish!

COURTHOUSE HOTEL

With a historical charm that dates back to 1850, The Courthouse Hotel, is a gastropub with a large menu that features cheesy wood-fired pizzas, delicious burgers, melt-in-the-mouth steaks, al dente pasta and more. Open 7 days a week.
